About the ASME Authorized Inspection Agency Accreditation Program
An Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) is an organization that meets the criteria of the ASME QAI-1 standard, "Qualifications for Authorized Inspection".  An organization must meet the qualification requirements and perform the duties specified in QAI-1, Chapter 2.  To perform authorized inspections under an ASME standard, an Authorized Inspection Agency is accredited by the Society pursuant to the provisions set forth in QAI-1, Chapter 3.  The Certificate of Accreditation will specify the ASME standard(s) for which authorized inspections will be provided by the AIA.
