Video: Electric Flight
Small aircraft are the first to fly with electric propulsion as the industry begins to decarbonize.
Aviation is beginning to transition to electric propulsion systems as the industry begins to decarbonize. The first examples are small planes that can fly short regional routes, or vertical take-off and landing craft that can fly those same routes or serve as air taxis. Larger planes for long-haul will be the last to convert. Here are some examples of electric-powered aircraft that will be commercially available in the very near future.
