Nominating a Landmark
Nominations for Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmarks, Mechanical Engineering Heritage Sites, and Mechanical Engineering Heritage Collections all use the same form and procedure.
Nominations are submitted on a nomination form along with the proper documentation (photographs and other supporting materials), by the nominating unit of ASME (Section or Division). All questions on the nomination form must be answered concisely and to the satisfaction of the Committee.
Nominations for Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmarks, Mechanical Engineering Heritage Sites, and Mechanical Engineering Heritage Collections all use the same form and procedure.
The criteria (9 questions) does not correspond directly to the enumerated items on the nomination form, but does provide the basis for decisions. (To prepare a nomination, please conform to the enumeration on the form NOT the criteria list.) The completed nomination form becomes a significant resource for ASME and the basis for the required commemorative brochure.
IMPORTANT: Nominations can be submitted either via paper or electronically to the History and Heritage Committee. Please secure signatures and support from an ASME Section chair before submitting to the Committee for consideration
At this time, we are not accepting any new landmark submissions.
